Data Center Architect - Chicago, IL

Seeking a dedicated Data Center Architect to build, support and maintain multiple co-location facilities for multiple geographic locations of a proprietary trading firm. Working successfully with network engineering, operations and system administration teams is imperative to the success of this role.

Responsibilities:
-Be involved in all aspects of co-location design, build and implementation.
-Work closely with Network and Systems Administration teams on a daily basis.

Requirements:
-In-depth experience with Cisco IOS, Linux, Windows, and power management.
-In-depth experience working in and designing data centers and co-locations.
-Experience with Python scripting a must.
-Extraordinary conscientiousness, resourcefulness, and adaptability.
-Strong communication skills.
-Ability to work with others (remotely and on-site).
-Excellent time management skills, ability to juggle multiple tasks, and ability to work independently.
-Project and vendor management skills.
-Practical knowledge of data center best practices, policies, and procedures.
-Practical knowledge of data center subsystems and concepts.
-Demonstrated ability and creativity in proposing, planning, implementing, testing, and monitoring data center solutions.
-Availability to work weekends or evenings to meet project deadlines, solve problems, or cover operations.
