Sr Network Engineer
Denver, CO Area
Up to $115K
Responsibilities:
-Design, implement, and document various networking
services.
-Ongoing design of Company’s IP network,
Internet access network, IP routing architecture,
and managed service offerings.
-Development and communication of engineering
standards and procedures as it relates to networking
infrastructure to ensure that all standards
and procedures are in accordance with Service
Level Agreements.
-Participate in departmental reviews to ensure
both the technical and operational feasibility
of all network products and services and make
recommendations based on his/her ability.
-Support existing network infrastructure, including
design, implementation, migrations, documentation,
and decommissioning
-Support network products through their life
cycle; changes, upgrades, decommissioning
-Participate in the transition of new products
from the conception phase into production
-Design and execute lab projects in support
of network product life cycles (software upgrades,
evolving standards)
-Conduct training for technical support personnel
-Participate in engineering team meetings and
project planning sessions
-Provide updates, presentations, and recommendations
on the state of assigned duties
Mandatory Qualifications:
-Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline
such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science,
or Information Systems preferred but will consider
applicants with equivalent work-related experience
with a minimum educational requirement of a
H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent
-Minimum of either CCNP (Cisco Certified Network
Professional) or JNCIP (Juniper Networks Certified
Internetworking Professional) certification.
-Advanced knowledge of layer-2 network design
and protocols including frame-relay, ATM, Ethernet,
SONET
-Advanced knowledge of routed and routing protocols
including OSPF, ISIS, BGP, Multicast, RSVP/LDP,
MPLS in a Service Provider environment
-Advanced knowledge of Service Provider network
offerings including RFC2547bis L3VPNs, Kompella
L2VPNs, VPLS
-3 to 5 years experience engineering internetworking
equipment in a Service Provider environment.
-3 to 5 years experience installing/maintaining
networking equipment in a Service provider environment
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
-Master’s degree in a technical field
-CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert)
or JNCIE (Juniper Networks Certified Internetworking
Expert) certification
-Advanced knowledge of security protocols and
implementations including IPSec, NAT, ACLs
-Advanced knowledge of content delivery/application
availability using load balancers
-Basic knowledge of scripting and programming
languages such as perl or python
-Basic knowledge of operating systems including
Windows, Unix, and Linux
-3 years experience leading/mentoring technical
personnel
-Experience in business process re-engineering
