Job Description:
SHIFT (Sun-Tues alt WED: 7pm-7am) or
SHIFT (Thurs-Sat alt Wednesday: 7am-7pm) or
SHIFT (Sun-Tues alt Wednesday: 7am-7pm)
• Support of Network, which consist of
Layer1, 2 and 3 network components.
• Coordinate with network service providers
to resolve outages and initial activation.
• Provision network resources for internal/external
customers to fulfill their communication needs
via network management tools, and systems.
• Technical assistance to all internal/external
customers during circuit outages.
• Assemble and update documentation in
the form of problem and change management tickets.
• Have a base familiarity with client
base and the network resources being utilized
by all internal/external customers. Use this
information to assist in resolving network issues
or trouble shooting network outages or impairments.
• Learn automated resource functions and
terminology.
• Learn alert management platforms, functions,
and terminology.
• Learn the company's product offerings.
• Learn the company's clients & their
services.
• Working knowledge in activating, provisioning,
and troubleshooting DWDM, SONET, T3, T1/Frac-T1
and frame relay/IP networks.
• Strong network troubleshooting skills
are required.
• Working knowledge of SONET and DCS (T1,
T3), CSU/DSUs, DWDM, TDM’s, fiber optics,
router’s, and switches is desirable.
• Working knowledge of network transition
language (TL1) is required.
Qualifications :
Must Requirements (including any physical requirements):
• College Degree preferred but will consider
applicants with equivalent work-related experience
with a minimum educational requirement of a
H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2-5 years experience in a Network control/management
center. B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
or Computer Science is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge in activating, provisioning,
and troubleshooting DWDM, SONET, T3, T1/Frac-T1
and frame relay/IP networks.
• Strong network troubleshooting skills
are required.
• Working knowledge of SONET and DCS (T1,
T3), CSU/DSUs, DWDM, TDM’s, fiber optics,
router’s, and switches is desirable.
• Working knowledge of network transition
language (TL1) is required.
• Strong customer service and communications
skills are required.
• Experience with a variety of switch
& router hardware, carrier services, network
services, network management, network termination
equipment and associated diagnostic equipment.
• Technical knowledge & experience
with various network protocols are required.
• Must have the ability to lead and direct
vendors to assist them in their efforts.
• Knowledge & experience with PC LAN
protocols and connectivity.
• Ability to interact and influence change
within the team that you’re working in.
• Shift work is required.Proven leadership
skills in a fast paced work environment is required.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities
is required.
Preferred Requirements:
• CCNA, CCNP, CCIP, Juniper Network Certifications
