Responsibilities :
• Provide systems engineering/diagnostic support to internal/external customers.
• Assemble and update documentation in the form of problem and change management tickets.
• Provide technical assistance to all internal/external customers during systems problems.
• Coordinate with the NOC and Central Operations to resolve outages.
• Support of Managed Systems services within Global Services, including Tape and Disk Storage Services, Operating Systems Administration, Database Administration, Hosted Exchange Administration and Application Management.
• Have a base familiarity with client base and the network resources being utilized by all internal/external customers. Use this information to assist in resolving network issues or trouble shooting network outages or impairments.

Position Responsibilities

Provide world-class customer support and technical expertise for customer networks.
• Support of all Managed Services classified as Systems Services including tape backup, disk storage, managed OS, and application management.
• Manage and execute all tier 1 troubleshooting procedures for managed services. Utilize skills, education and training to solve problems quickly for customers.
• Technical assistance to all internal/external customers during system problems and implementation.
• Respond to inbound customer requests (phone, email, tickets)
• Assume the role of problem owner.
• Assemble and update documentation in the form of problem and change management tickets.
• Have a base familiarity with client base and the network resources being utilized by all internal/external customers. Use this information to assist in resolving managed services or trouble shooting system problems, outages.
• Attend training courses, perform self-study, and obtain certifications.
• Working knowledge in activating, provisioning, and troubleshooting managed storage (tape and disk), operating systems administration, database administration, monitoring services, Exchange Administration.
• Strong systems and network troubleshooting skills are required.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Linux, Solaris, Tivoli, EMC, Hitachi, and AIX is desirable.


Qualifications :
• College Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.

Must Requirements (including any physical requirements):
• Two to three years experience in a Systems control/management center or Central office environment. B.S. degree in Computer Science, or similar is highly desirable.
• Experience or be asked to support a wide range of technologies including: OS's -Windows, Linux, Solaris, Databases, SAN, TSM, Load Balancing, Monitoring, Cisco network products, Disaster recovery
• Working knowledge in activating, provisioning, and troubleshooting managed storage (tape and disk), load balancing, operating systems administration, database administration, monitoring services.
• Strong systems troubleshooting skills are required.
• Working knowledge of IT infrastructure through all layers of the OSI model.
• Strong customer service and communications skills (written and oral) are required.
• Experience with a variety of switch & router hardware, carrier services, network services, network management, network termination equipment and associated diagnostic equipment.
• Technical knowledge & experience with various network protocols are required.
• Must have the ability to lead and direct vendors to assist them in their efforts.
• Knowledge & experience with PC LAN protocols and connectivity.
• Ability to interact and influence change within the team that you're working in.
• Strong interpersonal skills are a requirement.
• Excellent communications skills (written and oral) are required.
• Strong time management and organizational skill are required.
• Must have the ability to effectively work in a team environment, as well as independently.
• Shift work is required. Proven leadership skills in a fast paced work environment is required.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities is required.

Preferred Requirements:
• College degree in Computer Science or similar engineering degree.
• MCSE and similar systems administration certifications. Tivoli certified.
