Database Architecture Manager
Seeking an exceptionally well-qualified Database
Architecture Manager to lead a global team of
database professionals managing distributed,
mission-critical, scalable, Sybase and MS SQL
databases in a fast-paced environment. This
team is responsible for the design and implementation
of robust database administration solutions
including performance analysis, data management,
capacity planning, high-availability, and disaster
recovery solutions. Development and production
support is provided through close interaction
with developers and application architects in
areas including application design, security,
and performance tuning.
The Database Architecture Manager’s duties
will include long-term strategic planning, setting
standards and direction, making recommendations
on database-related products and services, establishing
and maintaining service-level agreements with
business units, and ensuring high-quality support
for a complex database environment.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical
discipline
-In-depth expertise in Microsoft SQL Server
or Sybase ASE
-7+ years of experience is required in areas;
including database administration, programming
and scripting, technical architecture and design,
and development of enterprise-wide applications
and databases in a distributed environment
-Proven management and leadership skills are
a must, including expertise managing multiple
projects and mentoring staff
-The ideal candidate will also have experience
in financial or related environments
-Knowledge of UNIX or MS Windows administration
is a plus
