The Senior Systems Engineer (Disk-Based Backup/Replication)
is responsible for the post-implementation support
of managed disk-based backup and replication
services.
Responsibilities:
-Perform troubleshooting, problem remediation,
and configuration changes of managed disk-based
backup services.
-Perform troubleshooting, problem remediation,
and configuration changes of managed replication
services.
-Perform troubleshooting, problem remediation,
and configuration changes of managed operating
system services.
-Maintain customer documentation.
-Dedication to providing world-class customer
service.
-Act as Tier 2 escalation support to solve
service problems related to managed replication
services.
-Participate in Change Control Board to ensure
service standardization and adherence to policies
and procedures.
-Provide immediate escalation of critical client
problems that may become serious service delivery
issues or may be reported to executive management.
- Participate in multiple projects and shifting
workloads
-Participate on projects providing technical
expertise for the success of the project.
-Provide post-implementation support of managed
disk-based backup services including troubleshooting
of problems, problem remediation, and configuration
change request.
-Provide post-implementation support of managed
replication services including troubleshooting
of problems, problem remediation, and configuration
change request.
-Maintain a deep technical knowledge of managed
services.
-Provide on-call support as needed.
-Maintain existing documentation related to
the services
-Create new processes and procedures related
to on-going support of production customers.
Job Requirements:
Must Requirements:
-College degree BA or BS in relevant field
(Computer Science, Management Information Systems)
or equivalent Technical School preferred but
will consider applicants with equivalent work-related
experience with a minimum educational requirement
of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent. training
or equivalent work experience that includes
appropriate training courses
-5 to 8 years experience with Microsoft Server
operating systems including the following: Active
directory, Windows clusters, network configuration
(such as 802.1q), IP addressing and routing,
SAN connectivity, basic scripting.
-Experience with Windows Server installation,
maintenance, and support.
-Extensive problem solving and troubleshooting
skills.
-Excellent customer service skills.
-Excellent verbal and written communication
skills.
-Excellent organizational and time management
skills.
-Ability to participate in off-hours and weekend
support.
-Ability to facilitate discussions to resolve
technical issues with multiple teams.
-Previous experience in an MSP or Web Hosting
company.
-Must possess strong interpersonal skills in
order to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Other Preferred Skills:
-Experience with Asigra software.
-Experience with replication software including
DoubleTake, MessageOne.
-Experience with VMware ESX
-Experience with PostgreSQL
-Experience with RedHat Linux.
-Experience with NetApp appliances
-Experience with SunOS, AIX, HP-UX operating
systems
-Experience with Opsware server management
platform
-Experience with ITIL and ISO 2001
-Preferred certifications: MCSE or RHCE
