Responsible for designing, installing and supporting equipment across multiple remote sites via MPLS and secure VPN circuits throughout the U.S. Must be an expert in troubleshooting, diagnostics, packet filtering, remote management/monitoring, VLAN’s, VPN, switch clustering, fault tolerance, gigabit backbones, etc. Must be proficient in Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches, ISDN, T1, T3, E1, Sonnet Rings, TCP/IP, Firewalls, 3Com Total Control RAS, and should posses an understanding of Internet/LAN/WAN Security methods.

Essential Job Duties:
-Design, build & support WAN using Cisco Switches, routers in a homogeneous TCP/IP environment distributed across a wide area frame relay network.
-Configure, maintain and support WAN & Internet connections including encryption cards & Cisco/PIX firewalls.
-Produce clear and concise documents & diagrams capturing networking & operational procedures & LAN/WAN topology using Visio, MS Project, MS Excel and MS Word.
-Be able to understand and troubleshoot extensive customer connections (Frame Relay, ISDN, VPN, etc.) in DMZ’s throughout the country.
-Understand and support customer and internal user remote access including 3Com Total control, Ascend, VPN, etc.
-Manage key vendors in order to expedite problem resolution, frame management, contract support, etc.

Minimum Requirements:
-3-5 Years recent experience with Wide Area Networks consisting of multiple remote sites across the country.
-Extensive experience with Cisco products including routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
-Extensive knowledge of MPLS, Internet VPN, frame relay, ISDN, and other transmission options.
-Experience using network monitoring tools to manage WAN infrastructure including packet filters, Network Inspector, Opti-view, or other Enterprise level monitoring tools.
-Working knowledge of extensive, complex, multi-OS LAN environments connected via WAN.
-Strong WAN security experience including access control lists, router firewalls, firewalls, DMZ design, NAT, GAT, etc.
-Excellent documentation, verbal and written communication skills required; Visio expertise essential.
-Must work well in a distributed team environment responsible for a large, mission-critical messaging & data processing infrastructure.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a distributed team and fast-paced environment.

Desired Education:
-Cisco certification, CCNA required; CCNP desirable.
-BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
