Lead Consultant is responsible for delivering
high quality Information Availability consulting
services to internal/external clients, as part
of an Engagement Team; may lead small projects,
teams on projects or enhancement projects. The
Engagement Team, led by an Engagement Manager,
designs and implements client centric information
availability solutions that resolve prevailing
industry and client business issues. Maintain
practice and project related information (time,
forecasts, work products, methodologies, etc.)
in appropriate repositories.
Deliver tactical and organizational support
to the practice for information availability
in the area’s concentration of services.
Contribute to the success of the practice area
through; personal billable utilization, service
delivery efficiency, quality control, inter-departmental
communication, and practice area knowledge development.
Project Delivery
• Perform all consulting with the highest
degree of professional conduct
• Adhere to formal service methodologies
for deliverables and overall project execution
• Ensure your assigned project tasks are
completed on time and within budget
• Use Changepoint to input billable time,
status tasks and forecasting project activities
• Assist with the development of project
schedules
• Analyze client’s strategies and
options, and provide meaningful recommendations
and solutions
• Conduct or facilitate productive presentations,
workshops, interviews, etc., at the client location
• Maintain actual realization rate on
projects at 100% of baseline rate
• Coordinate with engagement management
regarding project plan, delivery and team composition
• If necessary, support assigned team
members in forecasting and tracking for projects
• Ensure all project materials, deliverables,
etc., are maintained in the appropriate project
repository
• Identity add-on business opportunities
and other measures to build client relationship
Practice Development
• Contribute to expert knowledge base
in information availability architecture and
design
• Support development of best practices,
methodologies, tools, and industry capabilities
• Recognize add-on business opportunities
and inform the Engagement Manager
• Recommend practice improvement measures
to Engagement and Practice Managers
• Assist with training junior consultants
in any area of subject matter expertise
• Participate in professional organizations
and external activities (white papers, articles,
etc.)
• Provide input during marketing/product
development lifecycle
• Where requested, assist Sales Support
with development of customized proposals
Deploy Ability & Professional Development
• Meet billable utilization target of
75%
• Maintain accurate personal calendar
and forecasts on a timely basis
• Maintain professional certifications
in information availability (i.e. MCSC, CISSP,
etc.)
• Coordinate with supervisor on developing
and executing individual training plan
• Actively communicate potential availability
• Assume personal responsibility for acquiring
training and project assignments needed to acquire
and maintain suitable level of subject matter
expertise
• Contribute to knowledge transfer/knowledge
management processes
• Comply with practice procedures and
directives while assuring that team members
assigned to your projects do likewise
• Mentor junior consultants in any area
of subject matter expertise
General Project Management
• Coordinate, with assigned EM, activities
of all consultants on an engagement
• Where instructed, project manage the
entire engagement, following established methodology
• Assist Engagement Director with the
accurate statusing of projects into Changepoint
• Support assigned team members in forecasting
and tracking projects
• Deliver projects on-time, on-budget
and exceeding client expectations
• Provide input to performance evaluations
for project team consultants
Qualifications : Educational Requirements:
• BS degree in Information Technology,
Computer Science, Engineering, or a related
field
• Certification in Information Availability
(such as CISSP or SANS GIAC Level-Two) expected
within first year of employment
• College Degree preferred but will consider
applicants with equivalent work-related experience
with a minimum educational requirement of a
H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
Business Requirements:
• 6-10 years of professional experience
• 3 years experience in information availability,
preferred
• 2 years direct consulting experience
• Minimum of 3 years Management experience.
• Prior work experience in a regulated
environment (a plus)
Technology Skills:
• General technical knowledge and/or expertise
in multiple areas of information systems technology
(e.g. operating systems, networking software,
databases, client/services computing, LAN, PC’s,
etc.)
• Strong understanding of advanced computer
system and/or information availability issues.
• Advanced knowledge of information availability
principles and best practices, information systems
concepts, incident response, and recovery
• Experience in information technology
tactical planning, information availability
procedures development and administration, availability
architecture design and technology assessment.
